managed to add some sound in last minute thanks to updating to snow leopard and using a later version of xcode

You may have noticed there is a big gap between ‘Programming’ and ‘COMPLETION!!!’

During this time lots of bad things happened and i forgot i was blogging this project :S But the main steps i followed were figuring out how timers work… which took about a week, way too long i know then with that i set up multiple timers for moving the background, setting the speed at which the sprite runs, and finding out how long it took to complete 100 meters

I made my own sprites and background for this game, then i added a main menu and instructions section… due to lack of time because of ‘bad things’ although i have looked up adding sound i haven’t been able to do so getting views to switch wasn’t so easy either until i found out about http://www.youtube.com/user/willythetomato who has some very good tutorials

Ok well thats it i think i enjoyed developing on the iPhone and my first app should be deployed soon (as this is for a uni project the due date is 4th May hence not enough time ) well definitely carry on to make iPhone apps because i enjoy it and would like to learn more about development

i believe i have finished the project… desperately need to get it on to a device to make sure its working properly though :S small adjustments here and there and CurtisJC == happy bunny

So far i have got animating sprites for the iphone and a working timer that scrolls the background while the sprite is ‘running’, next is implementing buttons to make the sprite run rather than it just running

Basic walk animation… kinda :P

Had a little trouble trying to get images on to the iPhone… Got a book… Now i can’t believe how easy it was to do very unimpressed with not being able to figure it out myself, but hoping things will run smoothly now with learning how to animate… Hoping

(Will have to come up with a better image… Maybe a lil bit too retro?… Maybe )

I have decided to make an iPhone app… my idea is Pixelympics

Pixelympics is a game with olympic events that have an animated retro pixel style character. Events that i have decided to include so far are 100m sprint, hurdles and long jump.
